Agile Development & Web 2.0 Technologies

Many companies have started developing software using an agile methodology, as opposed to the more traditional sequential or waterfall model. Similarly, developers have been relying on Web 2.0 technologies, such as rich internet applications (RIA). Both of these development models pose serious problems for tradition software testing techniques. Test script coders cannot keep up with the rapid changes from agile’s iterative approach, or the havoc that dynamic object property changes bring to automation. Manual testing is extremely time consuming and labor intensive.
